Seven Days Bank Holiday Weekend Special: Ku, White Swan, George and Dragon, King’s Arms and more

Spring affair at Ku Bar

It’s spring bank holiday weekend and the teams at Ku Bar Leicester Square and Ku Soho will be fit to bursting with cold drinks, hot tunes and super sexy boys. Plus, downstairs at Lisle Street, Klub will be packed until an extra late 5am, before Jacqui Swallows is back with Kabaret and guest Sum Ting Wong on Sunday from 8pm.

Let’s have fun at the White Swan

There’s another great line up this weekend at the White Swan in Limehouse starting on Thursday (24 May) with their rather fabulous Open Mic night, while on Friday it’s Klub Nite with DJ Aaran Bader. On Saturday it’s the venue’s Drag Idol heat final, hosted by Saucy Sophie, when they will choose an act to represent the venue, plus there’s a special performance from last year’s winner Tracy Barlow too.

Charity night at the George and Dragon

On bank holiday Monday (28 May) The Duchess at the George and Dragon in Greenwich is throwing a massive fundraiser to support the amazing St Christopher’s Hospice. Hosted by the outrageous Saucy Sophie, there’s a stellar cabaret line up including Myra DuBois, Mary Mac, Sandra, Dave Lynn, Miss Jason, Crystal D’Canter, Heart & Soul, Miss Terry Tour, Mrs Moore
and Tanya Hyde, and it all starts at 6pm.

The bank holiday at the Kings Arms

The Kings Arms on Poland Street is always a fun destination and there’s loads on all weekend. Friday (25 May) sees Meat boys Fannar and Adrian on the decks from 9pm while on Saturday the tunes come from Georgie St Angelo. On Sunday it’s the legend that is Jivin’ Julie and her amazing Bearyoke, while on bank holiday Monday (28 May) the team host a charity fundraiser in aid of The Food Chain and British Heart Foundation in memory of Eric Holah. DJs include Princess Julia and Luke Howard from 3pm.

It’s all go at the Old Ship

John and his team have it going on this weekend at the Old Ship in Limehouse, including their Drag Idol heat final on Saturday (26 May) hosted by that one woman selection board, Mandy Gap. On Sunday there’s cabaret from showbiz guru Mrs Moore and on bank holiday Monday there’s a show from Davina Sparkle. 

Comptons of Soho

Why not spend at least some of the bank holiday weekend surrounded by frisky guys while you sup on a cold beer? Sounds good to us, so we will see you at Comptons where the beer will be flowing and the flirting turned up to 11 all weekend, plus you get music from Brent Nicholls on Friday (25 May) and Tasty Tim on bank holiday Monday.

Zach Burns at Rupert Street

This Sunday evening (27 May) Boyz Award-winning DJ Zach Burns will be serving up a storm behind the decks at the gorgeous Rupert Street Bar from 5pm until 9pm.

Pick up Pride essentials at Clonezone Birmingham

If you’re in the Midlands from Friday then Birmingham Pride takes over your weekend and you’re gonna need supplies, so drop by the city’s Clonezone store at 84 Hurst Street to pick up essentials including underwear, condoms, lube, shorts, T-shirts and loads more. Open 11am until 9pm six days a week and from midday until 7pm on Sunday.

Score and shoot at Eagle Cardiff

Booze and cruise bar Eagle Cardiff hosts its monthly Sports Kit Night this Saturday (26 May) from 9pm. Expect a crowd of friendly blokes dressed in tight shorts and rugger tops, free entry and a mega late closing time of 5am.

Soap smash

Soap is the gorgeous and sexy circus show that comes with more than a smash at the Underbelly Festival on the Southbank. This watery themed show is packed with humour and excitement, and you’ll never look at a bath the same again. It runs until 17 June and tickets can be purchased from underbellyfestival.com
