What’s coming up at Comptons

Comptons is the much loved grand dame of Soho, packed every day with a frisky and friendly crowd. Dave Cross had a catch up with general manager Matthew to find out about some exciting changes and what they are planning for the World Cup.

Hi Matthew, how is 2018 going at Comptons so far?

2018 has been so busy here at Comptons, and the summer has barely started!

We know you’ve got a few changes coming up, can you tell us about the new look Thursdays with DJ Alex Eugenio?

We are launching our new Thursday night Soul Hoes with Alex Eugenio playing disco and house music. Alex has done an excellent job on a Monday and will make Thursday night the new Friday.

And tell us about Mondays with the DJ legend that is Tasty Tim…

Mondays have been epic at Comptons for many years and now we have the legend Tasty Tim as well. The Manic Monday Club features £2.50 drinks on a variety of drinks all day every Monday. And Tasty will be taking us all back in time playing all your favourite 80s classics, so you can party away your Monday blues.

And from 15 June you will be screening matches from the World Cup?

Yes! We will be making the World Cup gay this June, showing every match and the evening matches on the big screen upstairs. We have two pint glasses, beer towers and on big matches we will be doing table service in our upstairs bar, so you can enjoy the football without having to return to the bar for your pint. We are taking table reservations and we have plenty of drinks packages you can pre-buy so you can have a bottle of vodka and mixer ready for when you arrive.

How do people book a table in the upstairs bar?

Please visit our website comptonsofsoho.co.uk or email [email protected] to book.

Do you have a prediction for the World Cup?

Balls and boys! We put our money on Germany.

What else do you have planned coming up at Comptons?

Of course there is Pride in London on 7 July and we will be the best place to show your pride on Old Compton Street with DJs Alex Eugenio and Dom Top pumping out the tunes. We are going to make this the biggest and best Pride at Comptons. I can now also reveal that at the end of the year we are having a major redecoration of the whole pub to keep the old dame in top shape. We are very excited about the plans and can’t wait. There are a lot of gay pubs and bars which have closed down in London, which is devastating, but here in Soho and at Comptons we will remain a gay bar and do our best to give LGBTQ people a fun place to come and socialise and party. Follow us to keep up to date.
