Brighton Pride is next weekend!

We are now less than two weeks from Brighton Pride 2018, which is promising to be the biggest and best one yet. There are events happening all over next weekend, from Friday right through until Sunday, including the massive extra day added in Preston Park with disco legends Chic headlining. Here’s a quick reminder of some of the highlights for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday 4 August

Your Pride Saturday starts with the gorgeous Parade that kicks off at 11am from Hove Lawns on the seafront and makes its way through the town towards Preston Park. This year, with its theme of Colour My World, it will be the biggest and most colourful Parade in the festival’s long history. On top of all the music, floats, bands, costumes and dancing, the Parade also carries the message of love, unity and support for the worldwide LGBTQ+ community that is at the heart of everything that Brighton & Hove
Pride does.

The main event is of course the Pride Festival in Preston Park from midday until late. Packed with everything you could want from a Pride party, you get amazing live acts on the main stage – yes, including Britney – but also Louise, MNEK, Pixie Lott, Ella Eyre and loads more. There’s dance tents with big name DJs, the glorious Legends Cabaret Tent, areas for all parts of the LGBT+ community, fun fairs, food stalls and thousands of smiling faces.

As well as the Park, there’s loads more happening across Brighton – check out the Pride Pleasure Gardens in the town including on Saturday night, the Sink The Pink official party Ta Da and various other official parties.

Sunday 5 August

The big news this year is that we now get a second day of larks and amazing music in Preston Park. LoveBN1Fest is on Sunday (5 Aug) and features loads of family friendly entertainment, circus skills, performance artists, cabaret, dance tents, street food village, accessibly tent and wellbeing area plus a stunning line up of world-class stars. Headlining will be Chic featuring Nile Rodgers – what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than by singing along to disco classics such as Good Times, Le Freak, I Want Your Love plus hits they wrote for Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, David Bowie and more. Also performing will be Jess Glynne, Raye, Gabrielle and many more.

Plus you get the Pride Village Party, which runs Saturday and Sunday, a two-day festive fairground of fabulousness at the heart of the city, and in the Pleasure Gardens The Glory presents The Big Gay Barn Dance all day party from 2pm until midnight.

And all this is just the headlines, there really is something for everyone across the weekend – check out the website for full details.
