Ku Klown for Halloween

This Halloween weekend, Saturday 27 October,  the team at Ku are embracing their inner sexy klowns for a frightful mix of fear and creativity like only Ku Bar can deliver. Here, host and Boyz cover star Stefanos gets you in the mood to scream.

This Halloween, Ku is getting in the scary Klowns, what made you pick this theme?

Well, we’re always fan of big movies, big costumes and big sets, aren’t we?! So obviously at Ku we’re continuing with that extravagance with a theme that we know every single customer will relate to, whether they hate it or love it or are terrified by it. So we’re going all ‘It’ out and doing klowns!

Do you suffer from coulrophobia (fear of clowns)? What is it about clowns that freak people out, do you think?

We suffer from ‘normal’phobia – haha! Clowns triggers both our fears and creativity, so we are combining both fears and creativity in one fabulous theme! The whole point of Halloween is to freak people out, no? We’re doing it through laughter, music and sexiness.

Talk us through how you will be decorating the Ku venues for Halloween?

Don’t you worry, Ku will be as terrifyingly fabulous as ever – you’ll just have to come and see. Think vibrant, dangerous and lustful.

Will this be just Saturday 27 October or all weekend and the day itself?

We are very proud and happy to announce we will be supporting and fundraising for LGBT+ Switchboard throughout the whole weekend! We start on Friday 26th with a raffle with fabulous prizes including tickets to see West End’s Dreamgirls, champagne hampers and much more! On the Saturday we will continue fundraising but go all out for Halloween! Our boys will turn into klowns to scare, flirt and probably kill you with their bodies – they are drop dead gorgeous after all. On the actual day of Halloween itself (Wednesday 31st), when all the spirits resurrect, Verruca Salt and Nieko will be resurrecting with them on the stage of our weekly Bombshell drag night at Klub – Halo/win all the way through!

And talk us through the bar boys Klown look?

Our very own body paint artist Michael Knight and his team of assistants will be transforming our Ku army into this klown extravaganza! Accessories will be added but not essential. You know why? Cause our boyz don’t need much clothing.

Who will be DJing at Klub on Saturday?

We are so thrilled to have Soho’s DJ gorgeous team on rotation. In our mothership Ku DJ Thanos will be kick starting the Halloween feel leading into Tom Fox in our Klub finishing with Rodrigo until 5am! In the middle of this music festival the guest DJ set will be making its debut with really promising DJs from all around the world. Any DJs out there that want to get on the Ku decks please get in touch with our host [email protected]. GO!

What else do we need to know?

On Saturday 27th all our venues are open XXX-tra late! The Light Lounge, our new relaunched gem of Soho, will be serving Halloween cocktail realness until 3am with DJs and terrified waiters and waitresses. Not only that but Little Ku (our naughty sibling venue) and SHE Soho (our lesbian venue) will also be open until 3am with the Ku/SHE boys and girls dressed and ready to terrify the hell out of your Halloween. All venues open extra late for you.
