A weekend of Halloween frights at The Welly

The dead Duke of Wellington may have been a national hero but to us he’s more famous as the name of the Boyz Award-winning Soho pub where scary bears and ghoulish Goldilocks hang out and neck pints of blood – only at Halloween, obvs. And for Halloween there’s a marvellous and terrifying selection. Here’s a hint of the horrors to come, plus DJ David Robson has picked five frightening bangers!

DJ Holestar

Friday 26 October, 9pm – 1am

Holestar is one of our freaky cover stars and she definitely felt at home and relaxed in the very naughty location. On Friday night she’s less dominatrix and more wicked DJ as she spins 80s, 90s and 00s classic pop hits to thrill you beyond your wildest dreams.

DJ David Robson

Saturday 27 October, 9pm – 1am

For Saturday night it’s the turn of David ‘Demented Dolly’ Robson to mix up old favourite with some modern bops.
Here’s his top five Halloween picks…

Lady Gaga – Monster

An often overlooked Gaga track that fits the theme of Halloween rather well… if only for the title!

Alice Cooper – Poison

Don’t take drinks from strangers! You don’t know if Alice has spiked it.

Norman Greenbaum/Dr and The Medics – Spirit in the Sky

The Gareth Gates version is indeed a horror, but the original and Medics cover are heavenly.

Jonathan Carpenter – Halloween Theme

Topical, no? Confession; I’ve never seen a single one of the Halloween films… Am I missing out?

Arthur Brown – Fire

To get you in the mood for bonfire night!

Spooky Lady Bingo

Tuesday 30 October, from 8pm

Aussie TV shopping demon Sheila ‘Shrieking Shack’ Simmonds hosts an extra spooky version of her hit bingo show upstairs at
the Welly.

Halloween Quiz

Wednesday 31 October, from 8pm

It’s Halloween night and Oliver and his team of slayers have plunged the depths of hell for the wickedest witch of them all… So, yep you guessed it’s Lola ‘Lastrange’ Lasagne… We are praying for your souls… especially if you’re ginger!
