Season of the queens: Christmas Queens at the Troxy

Tis the season to be gorgeous and right now there are seven amazing American drag stars on tour in the UK: Asia O’Hara, Blair St. Clair, Eureka O’Hara, Kameron Michaels, Manila Luzon, Sharon Needles and Bob The Drag Queen are appearing in Christmas Queens. This Saturday they are at The Troxy in Limehouse and we asked three of the girls – Eureka, Asia and Kameron – a couple of festive questions.

Hey girls, so what does Christmas mean to you?

Asia O’Hara: I think it’s a time of togetherness and spreading love. The holidays are when people should put aside differences and come together.

Kameron Michaels:  It’s a time for family, spending time with mama Michaels and those I love.

Eureka: Christmas to me just means “family”. It’s happiness. Everyone says presents, but for me, I feel like it’s the time of year to feel accomplishment at what you have done the previous year. It’s the end of the year and the start of a new one. If you don’t have an actual family, it’s a time to be with your chosen family.

And, can you tell us what we can expect in the Christmas Queens show?

Eureka: The Christmas Queens show is more than just a show, it is a creative experience and we have all worked so hard to … sleigh! We are excited to Cher it with the world!

Asia O’Hara: You will get lots of glitter, glam and garlands.

Kameron Michaels: You will hear some classic Christmas tunes with our very special drag queen twist, of course!

Christmas Queens is on this Saturday (8 Dec) at The Troxy, 490 Commercial Road, Limehouse, E1 and on Sunday (9 Dec) at the 02 Apollo in Manchester.
