Something for everyone at The RVT

There’s a smorgasbord of treats on offer at the Boyz Award-winning Royal Vauxhall Tavern this weekend, starting on Thursday (17 Jan) with The Quizzarding World, a quiz for fans of Harry Potter with a show by The Vixens. On Friday it’s those frisky monkeys at club sensation Beefmince, and on Saturday the one and only Duckie, now open until 4am. The weekend comes to a climax with Sunday Cabaret featuring Miss Penny followed by Sunday Clubbing with DJ Liam Chaplin.

Leave to Remain

This Friday (18 Jan) sees the opening of Leave to Remain, the brand new musical with songs by Kele Okereke from Bloc Party. This tale of modern love and the impact families can have on a gay relationship is on at the Lyric in Hammersmith for a month and you can get tickets at lyric.co.uk

Bingo and quiz at The Welly

The Duke of Wellington sashayed away with Best Bar at the Boyz Awards last year and it’s easy to see why, with cold beer and a warm welcome seven days a week. Plus every Tuesday you get Busy Lady Bingo with Sheila Simmonds and every Wednesday it’s the quiz with Martha D’Arthur and Topsie Redfern on rotation

Von Clitz at Sundowners

This Saturday (19 Jan) that West Country lass Stephanie Von Clitz will be saying ‘alright my lovers’ to the folks by the seaside at the marvellous Sundowners in Margate plus songs, chuckles and the odd beavie or six.

Cabaret fun at The Brewers

There’s another action packed weekend at the Two Brewers kicking off with Miss Jason on Thursday (17 Jan). On Friday night we get the marvellous Lola Lasagne plus Backroom Club Classics, while on Saturday you can watch the latest episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race at 8pm followed later by cabaret from Miss Penny. And Sunday is of course the Power of Three with shenanigans from Miss Jason, Mary Mac and Sandra.

Cybil’s House at The White Swan

This Saturday (19 Jan) the mighty Cybil War will be celebrating her birthday with a glorious 90s themed party where else but at Cybil’s House at the White Swan in Limehouse. Cabaret at The Yard Coventry

Friday night is the big cabaret night at the mega popular Yard in Coventry and this week (18 Jan) they have the brilliant Mary Golds and next Friday (25 Jan) it’s none other than Son of a Tutu. Hurrah!

Two shows at Above the Stag

Above The Stag is the multi Boyz Award-winning LGBT+ theatre in Vauxhall and in its swish new home it has two amazing performance spaces. Right now in the Studio you can see Extra Virgin, a twisted tale of sexual hook ups, while on Thursday (17 Jan) Grindr The Opera is back in the main space for a limited run. Musicals at Ye Olde Rose and Crown

If you just love musicals, from The Sound of Music to Hamilton via Phantom and Wicked, then every Tuesday night you should head to Ye Old Rose and Crown in Greenwich. Showtime Tuesdays is on every week from 7pm and is SO much fun.

Halfway II Heaven has a clutch of Boyz Awards to its name and when it has a weekend like this ahead it’s easy to see why – deep breath… Friday (18 Jan) Drag With No Name, Saturday it’s Mrs Moore, Miss Penny, Tanya Hyde and The Vixens, at CK Sunday they are celebrating the life of Val Holmes and raising money for Cancer Research UK and on Monday the amazing lip-sync goddess Ripley is back… Phew!
