Prides around the UK

Brighton Pride is coming: Friday 2 to Sunday 4 August

Brighton & Hove Pride is the Boyz Award-Winning annual LGBTQ+ festival that brings a smile to our faces and thousands of happy bunnies to the seaside city every August. This year’s main events take place over the first weekend in August, the team will be announcing some of this year’s performers at the start of February, but here’s a reminder of just some of the treats in store.

Brighton Pride is a gorgeous mix of celebration and statement. It sends a clear message to the world that the LGBT+ community is here and not afraid to stand up for its rights and the rights of those around the world, and that there’s no shame in partying as only we can.

There are events in the months leading up to the big weekend, but for most of us, Pride starts with the Community Parade on Saturday 3 August. This year, fitting in with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising that inspired the modern Pride movement across the world, the theme of this amazing spectacle will be Generations of Love. It will once again make its way from the seafront through the city centre to Preston Park. Applications are now open to take part in the parade, via the website.

And, speaking of Preston Park, that is of course the location for the main event, the Pride In The Park Festival. This glorious fun filled day sees Preston Park packed out with everything you could want for a Pride celebration including dance tents, cabaret, community, food, market stalls, fun fair and much more including of course the huge main stage which in the last few years has seen acts such as Britney Spears, Carley Rae Jepsen, Alison Moyet, Years and Years, The Pet Shop Boys, Sister Sledge and more performing. Some of this year’s live acts will be revealed in the first week of February. The first set of tickets for the Park have sold out, but the second release go on sale on Monday (28 Jan) via the website.

Following the huge success of LoveBN1 Fest, the extra day in the park added last year on Sunday with Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, this super Sunday will be back, details coming soon, plus don’t forget all the official after parties and much more.

Tickets and details are available from brighton-pride.org
