We know it’s difficult to believe since he looks so young, but last Sunday Charlie Hides was celebrating 60 years as a drag performer… oh sorry, 30 years apparently.
The Royal Vauxhall Tavern was totally packed for this special show from the multi Boyz Award-winning cabaret star. Charlie took the audience on an emotional trip through his career with songs and stories, including the dark days of the AIDS epidemic and his personal and career highs. There was even a surprise for Charlie when during his version of True Colours the audience raised glow-sticks that one of his fans had secretly given out, it was a brilliant night from one of this countries’ finest cabaret performers. Congratulations Charlie from everyone at Boyz.
