Spring has sprung which means we are hurtling towards summer at high warp, covering light years (see what we did there?) and that means you really need to sort your tickets out for this year’s Brighton Pride, both the Saturday Pride in the Park with Kylie and Clean Bandit and the really rather fab LoveBN1Fest on Sunday with Grace Jones and Jessie J. Here’s an update on who else is appearing on both days plus some news about a new way to get to and from Brighton Pride.
Pride In The Park
Saturday 3 August, midday to 10.30pm
We already know that headlining the main Pride in the Park on Saturday will be the icon of icons, the one and only Kylie in a full 90 minute show plus one of the hottest bands on the planet right now, the amazing Clean Bandit. But this is Brighton Pride and they have now also confirmed for Saturday: X Factor and Jungle star Fleur East and Bjorn Again the world’s most successful ABBA tribute band. Plus a trio of exciting new pop stars, Zak Abel, Rina Sawayama and Alice Chater. This will be an amazing day in the park, and this is just the main stage, there’s the Legends’ Cabaret Tent, dance tents, a fun fair, marketplace, community areas, women and men only spaces and much more.
LoveBN1Fest
Sunday 4 August, 1.30pm to 9.30pm
Added last year for the first time, when Nile Rodgers and Chic headlined, this new and exciting second day is a music festival where everyone is welcome. The two headliners are Jessie J with mega hits such as Bang Bang, Domino, Price Tag and many more. Plus the absolute legend that is Miss Grace Jones with classics such as Pull Up to the Bumper, Slave to the Rhythm, Private Life and many more. They have now been joined by Rak Su, winners of The X Factor 2017 plus Nina Nesbitt, the House Gospel Choir and Grace Carter. This is the perfect way to chill on the Sunday following the craziness of the day before. Quality music in a gorgeous setting.
Pride coach service
Saturday 3 August
The lovely folk at Brighton Pride know that getting back to the station and then home by train can be a bit of a slog on the Saturday, so this year they are introducing a new coach service from various locations to Preston Park and back again that you can pre-book, meaning you can arrive in and leave Brighton from the Park.
