Hungerford House is the stylish building that houses Circa The Club downstairs at the weekend and is now open on the ground floor as a gorgeous restaurant seven days a week. Dave Cross spoke to General Manager Nieko to see what’s on the menu.
Hi Nieko, how would describe what Hungerford House is?
Hey Boyz! Hungerford House is a venue I’m incredibly proud to be a part of, and is a fabulous addition to the Circa group. Sitting on Victoria Embankment, it overlooks the river, and is an old converted power station with the most glorious architecture from old London. We’ve worked hard to keep its traditional features, fusing it with modern social atmosphere, giving you the perfect place to sip cocktails and eat food all day every day!
What style of food is available and what times?
Food is available daily from 11am. The style is what’s fun! You can expect traditional pub food like burgers and sausage and mash (done fabulously of course), as well as an array of European specials, from spices to vegan and everything in between. Our new summer menu has now begun – the perfect blends of meats, vegetables and refreshing salads.
So if we were popping in after work for a couple of drinks and food, what would you recommend?
Me, personally? Everything obviously! Well, you have to start with a signature cocktail, our Ketel One Vodka infused with passion fruit are my fave. If you’re a meat lover like me – grab the chicken croquettes for starter and burger for main, with a large glass of merlot. End with an espresso martini – of course.
Tell us all about Bottomless Brunch on Saturdays?
How could we NOT do Bottomless! Every Saturday our delicious range of brunch specials comes with the options of having bottomless prosecco for 90 minutes… for only £30! With views of the river during the summer season, and a range of options such as Full Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Vegetable Hot Pots or Salmon – it’s the perfect place to start a social Saturday soiree.
Hungerford House is really near Trafalgar Square… what are you doing on Pride Day?
Ahh! It’s just around the corner! And I’m really excited about what we have planned. From 9am on Pride Saturday, we are available for bookings for a special Pride breakfast and brunch, before all the mayhem starts. Enjoy all I’ve mentioned before as a starter to your Pride day. We will then be open till 5am for the perfect mini-oasis escape from the main event at Trafalgar Square. Hungerford House and Circa The Club are really where you can revel in the Pride atmosphere, but enjoy it with a touch of sophistication too!
