For the Bank Holiday weekend the team at Ku Lisle Street are throwing a massive Beach Party on the Saturday (24 Aug) and we are all invited. Dave Cross caught up with the Ku PR prince and Boyz Award-winning host Stefanos to find out the lowdown on this hotter than hot hoedown.
Hey Stefanos, how has the summer been so far at Ku?
It has been so incredible, full of crazy nights, events and a new terrace. Following the madness of Pride when we had our topless bartenders in body paint with sponsored Addicted swimwear, a massive rainbow balloon wall, go-go dancers, merchandise for everyone plus 36 hours of DJs, we have relaunched our Tuesdays in Ku Lisle Street with the MX non-binary party night!
We love the new look Terrace, for anyone who hasn’t seen it, what’s it like?
It’s fresh and summery. Proudly sponsored by Pravha beer it combines a chic feel of an island riviera with the craziness and colourful essence of a beach bar in Ibiza. Check out our new massive Klub sign all big and bright with the neon lights.
You are throwing a Beach Party for Bank Holiday weekend at Lisle St, what can you tell us about it?
Speaking of a beach bar in Ibiza, we are indeed organising a beach themed party on Saturday 24 August. The road to the Bank Holiday is looking like a nine hour heatwave with us; open from midday the party starts at 6pm and goes all the way to 3am. Whoever comes in their swimsuit gets a discounted £5 Klub entrance as well.
Sounds cool and hot… what else?
Drinks, friends and sunshine (hopefully) all in Ku’s Beach Party. A summer party to celebrate the (almost) end of the summer season with swimsuits, pink flamingos, Free Addicted and ES merchandise plus amazing spritzers. Choose from our three summer spritzers on daily Happy Hour 4pm – 7pm including Aperol Spritz, Melon Spritz and Pink Gin Spritz and let our DJs to entertain you till 3am.
What will the boys be wearing?
Only their perfumes… Joking of course… almost! They will be wearing swimwear by Addicted and ES all provided by the ESMale store. We always say to our boys to feel confident and free in whatever they choose to wear so this still stands on this occasion. Some surprising outfits will come up on the night by them – I am sure about that.
And which DJs will be playing at Lisle St and at Klub?
We have our resident and lovely Pablo Esseme in the Klub followed by our influencer Tom Fox. I have a guest DJ for the main floor of Ku Bar which will be a surprise!
What’s happening at Little Ku?
Ku Group’s sibling venue proudly boasts a gorgeous view of London’s gay village – the infamous Soho – it’s the perfect place to people watch. We have added new beers and drinks and our second floor is fully refurbished to an industrial-chic feel.
And Light Lounge and She Soho?
Exciting times ahead for the Light Lounge as we are launching our new cocktail menu very, very soon. It’s going to be an epic one. Our head bartender Joao just very recently won the best Caipirinha Creativity Award in the London Caipirinha Festival and we added his winning drink already on to the menu: melon and basil Caipirinha! We are also now providing buns from the Bun House as the perfect evening snack to accompany the cocktails and people seem to love it. Choose from a selection of delicious buns and have them delivered straight to your table. She Bar will have DJ Charlez who will be mixing our Saturday club tunes with free entry before 8pm and £4 after.
Finally is there anything else we should know?
We are getting ready for London’s Cocktail Week which is taking place in a couple of months – keep your eyes peeled.
