Escape from Plant Trash at the Pleasance Theatre: Review by Stephen Vowles

With her rakish charm and quick wit, Ginger Johnson has the skills of a vaudevillian, slapstick performer coursing through her veins and with her latest seasonal offering Escape from Planet Trash, she is clearly adept in the rather skilled execution of her designer/director work ethic, creating a wonderful show based on the need to entertain centred around hullabaloo .

With his company, notably Mairi Houston who has an exquisite singing voice, general mayhem ensues and this is top drawer toilet  humour at its best. Assisted by Lavinia Coop, David Cumming, Mahatma Khandi and Maxi More, this is an ensemble so in tune with each other that the laughs inevitably come thick and fast.

This is a vibrant assault on the senses, a cacophony of sounds and visuals, gloriously eccentric and in true Sink The Pink style, totally unique. A tale of chickens, Christmas lunch and revenge – make of that what you will. Hilarious with a sinister edge!
