Sexual Health

Please help UCL researchers and complete the ‘Your sex life since lockdown’ online survey

COVID-19, lockdown and social distancing have affected us all in so many ways, including our sex lives. Now health researchers are asking for your help to investigate how COVID-19 has affected our sexual lives.

Professor Cath Mercer from University College London (UCL) told Boyz: ‘We need information about the impact of COVID-19 on sexual behaviour, sexual health service use – and need. This is vital to better plan services and to help reduce inequalities and risks to health now and in the future.  I hope everyone tells us about their experiences by taking our short anonymous online survey’.

The ‘Your sex life since lockdown’ survey is about your experiences before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.  It’s completely anonymous, confidential and takes about 10 minutes to complete.

You can do the survey at this link: https://snapsurvey.phe.org.uk/your-sex-life-since-lockdown.

Please take the survey if you are:

  • a man, trans man, trans woman or non-binary person (assigned male at birth)
  • AND you have sex with men and/or other people assigned male at birth
  • you must be aged 16 years or over and live in the UK to take part

You can also help recruit friends by copying and sharing the link on your social media. The more people who do the survey, the stronger the research will be. The survey closes on Tuesday 14th July.

In order to understand any ongoing effect of COVID-19, the sexual health researchers from UCL and Public Health England plan to conduct two more surveys this year, which you are welcome to also complete.  Information will be available from their study website http://bbsti.hpru.nihr.ac.uk/.
