Fountain men: Henry Miller welcomes visitors to an Open House at his home gallery this weekend

Summer is here and temperatures are rising!  All we want to do is get our clothes off and jump in a pool, sea, lake, river, fountain… anything cooling will do!

As art dealer Henry Miller is about to welcome visitors to his home gallery in Walthamstow for an Open House this coming weekend (31 July/1 August), we picked five pieces from his collection that take us where we’d rather be right now.

Dozing in the shade by a deserted river in the French countryside, before going for a skinny dip, like Yves Paradis’‘Le Dormeur du Val’.

Jumping in a nice cool pool like English diver Antonio Ally, as caught by Anderson & Low’s camera.

Gallivanting in a public fountain (think Anita Ekberg in La Dolce Vita). This drawing by Sir Thomas Wheeler is a study for one of the fountains he designed in Trafalgar Square.

Dancing naked in the waves like these two happy boys captured by Yankel Feather in ‘The Sea, the sea, the beautiful sea’.

Or just posing in speedos on a beach like this hot French body builder photographed by Studio Arax in the 1940’s.

Whichever it is, if you’re not going to make it to Mykonos, Sitges, Ibiza or even Studland Bay this summer, all these will be on display (amongst many other ‘Male Form’ artworks) at Henry Miller Fine Art in Walthamstow on Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August.

Booking is essential and can be done here:https://www.henrymillerfineart.co.uk/
