Great fun last night at The Two Brewers as the Lee Cooper documentary MAISIE was shown at a special screening in The Two Brewers’ cabaret bar and club. A contingent of loyal fans, young and old, were glued to the video playback screen and enjoyed this film about the man who has been performing as Maisie for over 50 years.
A delightful pouring out of love and affection for David Raven aka Maisie Trollette came from the Q & A afterwards that featured director Lee, Allan Cardew, Maisie’s dresser in the film and Miss Jason, fellow drag artist Jason Sutton; the Q & A was chaired by David Robson. A wonderful look at a man who has proved one thing: Life is for living. Wonderful cabaret later provided by Cosmic at the after-party for the screening – and of course a picture of two cute lads has to be included in any story that runs in Boyz! After all boys will be Boyz!
