Kimora Blac: In her own words
She’s the baddest, bitchiest contestant from Season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and was out on her outsize ass in record time. As she gets ready for her appearance at G-A-Y Porn Idol next Thursday (27 Apr), what does the Las Vegas showgirl have to say for herself?
On being attractive to everyone
‘It’s really weird, I get a lot of straight guys that hit on me. I get a lot of gay guys that hit on me. I love the attention. Like, if you look hot, what kind of girl doesn’t like the attention? When I’m dressed up, I can get pretty much any kind of guy that I want.’
On her look
‘I am like your life-size Barbie, like, out of the Barbie box. I am your rich, hot, platinum-blonde Barbie, super-bronzy. I would totally date me. My drag aesthetic is just sexy and showgirl.’
On her persona
‘Kimora is a diva, she’s very selfish, she loves to party, she loves to shop. She’s like the Kim Kardashian of the party.’
On having attitude on Drag Race
‘I don’t think it was attitude. That was me in competition mode. I got a lot of criticism for being the bitchiest one and being into myself the whole time but what kind of drag queen isn’t into herself? I’m just a bit more blunt about it.’
On the lack of qualifications among the judges on Drag Race
‘You’ve got judges on the panel that have never done drag, so why are you even critiquing drag?’
On whether RuPaul’s Drag Race portrayed her as the villain
‘I didn’t even cut anybody’s hair, I didn’t even fight anybody. I didn’t even blow up on anybody. Like for them to even say I’m a villain, well, I don’t know what villain you’re talking about, because I just sat there and was just being blunt and speaking my mind.’
On Michelle Visage being snide to Kimora
‘Everyone has their opinions. Some are helpful and some aren’t.’
On grammar
‘What’s an adjective?’
On her stage presence
‘It’s just me in this leather bodysuit, big boobs, blonde hair. You know, like your normal porn star. I just love feeling hot on stage, you know? I love being the Pussycat Doll, like the Nicole Scherzinger of drag.’
On her outfits
‘I love anything see-through, anything that shows my body.’
On the first time she ever did drag
‘I probably got like an oversize tank top, like a size large, with a belt wrapped around the waist. I had skinny little legs. I don’t even know if I was wearing heels. I felt as if I was exactly where I was supposed to be at that very moment, dressed up, going out and having this feminine time of my life. I fell in love with it.’
On passing as a woman
‘The number one question I always get is, “Are you a transsexual?” I’m like, never. When I show them my boy picture, they are intrigued. A lot of the boys now just look like they took off their make-up. You can tell that I went through like Operation Make-Up 911.’
On her drag-spiration
‘RuPaul. She’s always stunning, Mother Ru and always on-point. She’s changed the drag industry and created her own era. Thanks, Mama Ru!’
On her future
‘I’m on the road to richness and ready to see the world!’
